“One of the greatest barriers to connection is the cultural importance we place on “going it alone". Somehow we’ve come to equate success with not needing anyone. Many of us are willing to extend a helping hand, but we’re very reluctant to reach out for help when we need it ourselves. It’s as if we’ve divided the world into “those who offer help” and “those who need help”. The truth is that we are both.”

Therapist, Chief Executive Officer

Erica DeSaussure, LMFT, Qualified Supervisor

An unhealthy mental state can lead to problems in relationships, career, and even spirituality. Are you struggling with low self-confidence, anxiety and possibly the impact of trauma or attachment issues? Let’s change this pattern together. I can assist you in exploring the mental health struggles that are creating obstacles in your daily life.  It can be difficult to find a safe, confidential atmosphere to explore your experiences and emotions. Allow me to provide you with a space in which you can feel secure to become emotionally vulnerable as I support you to engage in the therapeutic experience to meet your needs.

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist trained in Attachment Theory and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Attachment theory focuses on how our family met (or did not meet) our physical and emotional needs in childhood and how it effect how we relate to ourselves and others in friendships, relationships, parenting, work and many other aspects of our lives. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is highly effective for resolving distorted thinking and behaviors. And for couples in particular, we may utilize the IMAGO, Emotionally Focused and the Gottman Method to help resolve communication and intimacy issues in their partnerships.
